  ORIGIN

It was in the 1920's When our grandfather Benjamin Corona Pelayo decided to join the alcohol industry, this was mainly because in our region there was a vast abundance of Agave, which grew naturally in our land, and from a rustic and old fashioned manner he started the process of distillation.

In the 1950's my father, Ruben Corona Robles, started to help his father with the factory. He and his brothers make the industry grow working as a family business creating new brands and making themselves independent. Once Independent, We the Corona Perez Rulfo brothers made ours the trademark: “TRES,” which we've been working under the representation of Mr. Francisco Javier Corona Perez.
  DISTILLATION PROCESS

The Agave plant is left as a ball; it is then emerged in a well made of stones which is previously heated with wood. These Agave balls are “cooked” in these wells for days and then are taken out to be punctured. After this process the balls are added Piloncillo (a traditional Mexican sweetener) and purified water and then are put to fermentation in a cooper pot (olla); this pot is put on fire where the vapor coming from it is passed into a cooling process resulting in a delicious beverage: Licor De Agave, which was well known as “Mescal De Tonaya”. This liquor coming from the pots it is then put in barrels made of Oak to reach its optimal ageneses. At the present time we respect the purity and quality of our product, which goes through three distillation processes. Even though we have modernize our equipment and processes, we still keep some techniques that make a difference against our competitors. The use of stainless steel, Steam Chambers, and Boilers make our production efficient.
